The Teacher by Freida McFadden

Listen. I went into this book blind, thinking it was going to be a normal “ooh forbidden tension” moment.
No.
NO.
This was forbidden with a capital F, bolded, underlined, and highlighted in neon yellow.

Did I agree with the concept? Absolutely not.
Would I sign the petition to ban these two from ever interacting in real life? Immediately.
Was it kind of gross and morally sideways? Oh, 100%.

And yet… I read the entire thing in one sitting before my brain finally caught up and went: “WAIT… this is actually ick. Like big ick. Like why did no one warn me ick.”

But here’s the thing: the vibes?? The pacing?? The tension that my moral compass was desperately trying to unplug like a fire alarm?? Immaculate.

It’s the perfect example of being a vibe-only reader:
• I don’t support it.
• I don’t condone it.
• I don’t even like admitting I enjoyed it.
But did I inhale it faster than my dignity could keep up? Yes.
Did I blink at the last page like “Wait… did I just devour something gross??” Also yes.

Five stars because it was entertaining. Zero stars morally.

A rollercoaster of “EW” and “OMG” at the same time. If you read for vibes, chaos, and questionable decision-making, this book will have you hooked…
and then horrified.
In that order.
