The Pumpkin Spice Cafe by Lauie Gilmore

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I opened this book thinking, “Oh cute, a small-town autumn romance. Sweaters. Leaves. Cinnamon vibes.”
AND THEN I FELL FACE-FIRST INTO THE MOST WHOLESOME, HALLMARK-CORE FEVER DREAM OF MY LIFE.

Did I expect to be giggling like a caffeinated woodland creature?
No.
Did I expect to imprint on a fictional café like it was my emotional support beverage?
Also no.
Did I read it in one sitting while craving pumpkin spice anything with a level of desperation not seen since 2014 Tumblr?
Unfortunately yes.

Because the vibes??
The vibes are straight-up cardigan-wrapped serotonin.
The MMC is giving “grumpy man who just wants to be left alone but unfortunately finds you adorable.”
The FMC is giving “accidentally sunshine, accidentally chaos, accidentally in love.”
And the town itself has stronger main-character energy than I do on a good day.

This book contains:

  • accidental cozy domesticity

  • grump x sunshine perfection

  • small-town matchmaking energy

  • baked goods that will spiritually tax you

  • fall vibes so strong you’ll consider buying a flannel immediately

Was any of this morally questionable? No.
Was it emotionally manipulative in a pumpkin-spice-induced way? Absolutely.
Did I behave like a gremlin and reread certain adorable scenes twice? Mind your business.

Five stars because it fed my soul, my seasonal depression, and my delusions all at once.

A perfect “I want comfort but also want to feel something” read.
Pumpkin spice my life, honestly.
